ASML is the largest supplier of photolithography systems primarily for the semiconductor industry and the sole supplier of extreme ultraviolet lithography photolithography machines globally, with 31,000 employees from 120 nationalities. The company also relies on a vast network of more than 4,000 suppliers and has offices in Belgium, Germany, France, the United States, Ireland, Italy, Israel, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea and the United Kingdom. Its products are immersion-based lithography and EUV lithography, and imprint lithography. The ASML Holding NV stock (ASML) is listed on the NASDAQ and had a market capitalisation of $314.36B (USD) as of January 2022. ASML acquired the German optical-glassmaking firm Berliner Glas Group to meet the increasing need for componentry for its EUV systems at the end of 2020. In summer 2021, the company announced they had a near-monopoly for machines used by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing and Samsung Electronics to make the latest generations of chips.
