Twilio is an American cloud communications platform as a service company with headquarters in San Francisco, California. The company allows software developers to programmatically make and receive phone calls, send and receive text messages, and perform other communication functions using its web service APIs. Twilio acquired Electric Imp and Segment and Zipwhip between 2020-2021. Amazon and Twilio inked a deal that Software developers using the AWS platform would now be able to have access to Twilio’s real-time messaging service and notifications. The company is being used by 1286 companies in their tech stacks, including Uber, Airbnb, eBay, and Instacart. The market capitalisation of Twilio was USD 61.83B as of September 23, 2021.
